Hey just to let you all know you guys at MASA have inspired me to start my DIY project.
This is my current tank! all is happy tank has been runnning for about 2 months and is just not gonna cope with my enthuisiam for our hobby!!!

.......So the plan is to supersize!!!
I've been thinking of a couple of ways, means, hows, don'ts the whole bangshoot and I've decided what I am going to do!
let me show the first week up to today that has been done!

....first step was finding the right place in my house to start!!!! Oh and permission to use the spot from the Girlfriend!!!!:whistling:
(This area looks sunny but stay with the build! have it all under control!!!)

The gap between the house portion and the column is just over 3M so I've planned the DT to be 2.7M

My Sparky... doin the maths on power needed!

Reinforced concrete beams going across with a opening for the sump compartment at the bottom being 1.9M ( beam span opening can hold a weight of 2.5tons tank with water will weigh 1.4tons!!!)..... still gonna crap myself when we fill water... BOOOOOM!!!! just kidding!

....just in case!!!! makes me sleep better!!! haa haa haa!
back view of sump area and opening where the tank is going to be built!!![IMG]

...and the front view area of the display tank!!!
    ...stay tuned for next week....
    Painting
    sump build
    lighting and some plumbing....oh yeah!!!!:wave2:

Looks and sounds like it is going to be a REALLY fantastic build!

I might be visiting there (Port Shepstone) from the 19th to the 25th or 26th.

Perhaps I can quickly pop by your place for a quick visit sometime?

If you are keen, PM me your details? (tel no, addy?)

    Thanks man.

    Great build there Brentv,
Is your tank going to be an all glass tank or only the front pane?
    Keep those pics rolling.
    Cheers

It's gonna be an all-glass, reason is because if I sell one day it can be converted into a braai area...
