Alright, alright, alright! We’ve been teasing you with innumerable posts about individual corals and novel colonies found at Kwajalein Atoll but now it’s time to blow your mind with some serious eye candy! If you thought scenery like this has become rare on coral reefs, we can assure you that they abound on the stony coral dominated reefscapes of Marshall Island’s Kwajalein Atoll.

As much time as we spent with our face twelve inches from the reef scouting and scouring for every single notable coral species, time and again we had to take a serious swim back to take in the grandeur of how all these corals came together to form immensely beautiful reef scenes. Table acros, giant staghorns, and veritable coral gardens populated by a great diversity of reef fish were a daily sight and nearly every dive site in Kwajalein.

We produced more than 4000 photographs of our time in ‘Kwaj’, at least 200 of which consisted of amazing reefscapes like these. Needless to say it was incredibly difficult to whittle them down to the best ten photographs of Kwajalein coral reefs but we hope you like, and pray you have a big sharp monitor to view them on.Readers also viewed:
