    Hi,

So yesterday I bought two open brain corals - of which one of them was a branch open brain, and the other the normal open brains.

Both corals was put into the tank after 30-40 minutes of acclimatization process.

I had to go out for the afternoon so had to "rush" this a bit...
Last night (that was after +- 2-3 hours in the tank), the branch open brain already lost about +- 90% of its flesh. :-(
So I guess it's not going to make it at all... :-(

The other coral is doing ok, and fed last night on bits of mussels.

Any reason on why a coral behaves like this?
    Was my acclimatization to fast?

I've checked - no fish nipping at it....

Do you have a pic of the coral, im not familiar with a branch open brain.

What are your water parameters and lighting? Sounds like your tanks parameters are very different from the shops and the corals were shocked.

I'm also not familiar with a branch brain coral, I think you may be referring to a torch or hammer or frogspawn coral possibly, or a trumpet coral? These are extremely delicate corals and can sometimes be damaged in transit as their soft fleshy 'skin'? can be easily torn from the hard skeleton.
