busy doing a clean up and rescape of my tank and I noticed my brain has torn away from it's skeleton on the one side. It got slightly damaged when I bought it 5 months ago but it seems to be getting worse. Is there anything I can do to help it?

tank some tank water out, place about 3ml iodine in the water and dip the coral for about 1min
then discard water and place back in tank

WOW, 3ml of iodine, thats a lot. Normal dipping for health is around 20 drops per 2L of tank water. But then again the dip lasts 10-15 minutes.

I use Seachem Reef Dip, and says on the packaging to use 5mls per 4 litres, and dip the coral for 5 to 10min.

I am having the same problem with my elegance coral coming away from the skeleton and the dip seems to be working, the guy from the LFS said i should dip everyday until the coral shows a much better improvement.

Thanks for the advice everyone. When I have my tank back together I will start with the treatment. I have the Reef Supplements Iodine which says 5ml per 2L's, I guess it is already diluted.
