Hi guys, this piece of brain coral doesn’t seem to be very happy. It’s placed near the bottom of the tank, under LED lights, moderate water flow.

I do a 10% water change every week and my water parameters seem to be OK, bar the dkH which is rather low at 7 (I think).

    SG 1.023; ph 8.3; calcium 420ppm, magnesium > 1300, phosphate virtually 0.

Does it have special feeding requirements? I don’t specifically target feed, although all my corals seems to like fish roe and I also dose with MarineSnow once a week.

Don’t want to lose this beauty, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If this were my tank i would up the alkalinity and watch it, also need to up the SG to 1.025/6
And also as asked previously, what is the nitrate reading?

    Agreed.

You could also try target feeding it at night when it's feeder tentacles are out.

It honestly doesn't look that bad right now, up the SG and alkalinity, and maintain those levels as best you can, and give it a week or so and check how it's doing.
It might do better sooner but that in my experience is the best time frame.

Just get the parameters spot on and maintain as best you can.

Dwarf angels can be very subtle about nipping, they so active you'll hardly notice. These corals also prefer low flow and low light in my experience. I suggest placing it on the substrate, not directly under the leds if possible..

Advice re water quality much appreciated. I also fed grated shrimp last night which he seemed to accept and will continue to do so twice weekly.

Hope it recovers, you could also try target feeding some frozen brine shrimp and mysis for a bit of variety.
