Has anyone had experience with the Boyu HS60?

On the surface they look identical to me (apart from the R2k price tag more) with the difference being the 150W MH light vs the 2x24 PC lights.

I have an oversized chiller to deal with the heat generated, but still worried.

Also with that much heat close to the water surface, worried that the light's glass plate will crack if it gets splashed.

Want to keep LPS again, would not mind a sprinkle of SPS, and have wild dreams of a nemi in two years time.

On the other hand will LPS cope with that amount of light?

PS. There seam to be a fire sale on TL550s, are they about to be replaced with something better?

    Bought one

    Gee, no opinions?

Bought the HS-60, hope the electricity bill don't make me regret it.

Just googled it....Neat looking Unit....less bulky looking than TL550....got some cool features....like buying a car;)

150w Halide aint the expensive to run....especialy when you think of how much you spent on the whole tank....I dont own a chiller so cant say much there

LPS should do well under that lighting....

I really battled keeping my water parameters stable with a 150w MH over the TL-550, had a HUGE amount of evaporation, just my 2 cents

Where you running a chiller? Assuming that I will be able to keep the temperature stable with my oversized chiller (Salesman: "You can never have a to big chiller") and that the enclosed, good sealing lid will keep the evaporation in check?

Suspect i will have to figure out a auto topup for it as well.

Liked the looks, boxy and hight.

Will start a new thread about the trails and tribulations.
