Boxing shrimp pairing

    Has anyone ever had a boxing shimp and introduced another one? can you pair them up? and how do you tell male from female?

    Don't, the likelihood is they will kill each other, if you see a female and male, the female is usually bulkier and has larger pleopods. Generally if you want a pair you have to catch a pair.

    I recently bought 2 boxer shrimp from wild on pets. They were in completely different tanks and had been for a few months. I then added them to a tank and they paired up immediately. Guess sometimes you get lucky.

    You can pair them. But it is hit and miss at times. I caught some individuals locally and they paired up(while very small).

    I have paired up lots of pairs, I have actually not had any that have fought, and have found that the larger actually always carries the eggs.

    dammit man, boxing shrimps are expensive :p dont wanna take the risk of feeding my shrimp an expensive shrimp snack
