    Hi All,

Can anyone provide more information on this fish for me please.

    Size as adult
Minimum size tank to keep it in
    Feeding requirements
    Compatibility issues (if any)

I saw one over the week-end and it is really a stunning fish. Does anyone know how regularly they are landed in South Africa and what the going rate is for one. On the US sites I seen they seem to go for around USD 1000.

    Thanks,

    Thanks Guys,

Info seems a bit out. Max size 9 inches, tank volume 50 gallons.

Tank size seems to be a bit small for a fish that grows that size.

Anyway I think my 70cm cube would be too small if they grow to that size.

    Awesome fish though.

I think the females are better looking though (this is what I saw). Apparently they are all female when young, which is probably the size they are typically collected at. It may just be more difficult to find males of a smallish size because of this.

I have had 2 females which I got about 6 months ago. They are not that difficult as long as the collector gets them to feed before they are shipped. I have seen a bunch of them come to Cape Town but it is quite difficult to get them to eat. They are amazing fish and if you get them to eat they are a awesome addition to any reef tank. I paid R 4000 for each of mine and they did well, I resold them now for R 4500 each and they are still doing well in the guys tank.

It all comes down to the specimen again and how well they ship. Because they are collected from far out locations and alot of them dont ship so well. They are not as rare as they once were, in Cape Town alone they are being imported by 1 or 2 shops on a regular basis. The female is alot more attractive than the male. I will be adding one in my tank again soon.
