Hey all, I have one of these and it has the typical female/juvenile coloration. I have read that these fish have the ability to change into fully fledged males, which I would love but I am not sure of a few things:
    - I already have one, had it for 4 weeks, so is it a bad idea to introduce another one now?
    - At what point is it "too late" to introduce another one so that one will not change, or will this always happen ?
    - finally, any JHB LFS have these at the moment ?

Howzit VicZA. I had the female in my tank for about 4 years and it never changed. Unfortunately I lost my one when I moved house. It was one of my best fish. Very peaceful and always active. Hope you manage to pair it up. Enjoy.

Hi @Carcharias I don't expect my female to change by itself ... I am assuming that (like the clownfish) if you have a pair, one will become dominant and hence change

I had one for a little over a year before it slowly changed into a male.

And they are all born as females. If they change it takes around two weeks to change.

Cool ... think it would still be ok then to add one now ? or will they likely fight ?

You will be better off with only the one in your size tank.

They are very likely to fight. I started with two in my previous tank which was 300l and they fought. Only one survived.
