Blue star Leopard wrasse-How common are they these days?

    Hi everyone. i had a blue star leopard wrasse in my last marine set up about 6 years ago...only had it for one month before i had to sell the tank..now i am setting up a 2m FOWLR tank and i want one of these fish..but i have only ever seen it once..which was the day i bought mine...since i havent been in the hobby for a while..was wondering how hard are these fish to get these days..do they come in often?

    I dunno about petshops, but we get them locally, have seen spans of them. Get your goggles on and go catch one :) (with the necessary permit of course)

    the only thing i'l catch in CApe Town waters is a cold...and Maybe a great White:lol:

    haha shame man, we see them in the LFSs here every now and again come to think of it. But i'd rather not be caught by a great white myself :p

    is this the fish u were tryin to explain to me?looks nice,maybe go up to Durbs with ur goggles.....

    dude they are a regular import from kenya and sing.. as well as being frequently caught from the durban coast upwards.. Moz is thick with them..

    This is the Macropharyngodon Bipartitus you are referring to???
    Never seen one diving off KZN.

    You sure you not mixing them up with the Halichoeres Nebulosus, which is quite common in the high current rock pools, with lots of macro algae?

    Yes they are easy to get , all pet shop have them on there lists, I saw one ,2 weeks ago in C.T ordered from Kenya.
