    Hi everyone

The last couple of days I have noticed that my female Anthia is a little bit bloated, almost look like being constipated. She made a poop and it seemed better.

She is becoming bloated again and I have noticed that her faeces are longish, white and stringy.

Tonight she is very bloated, lethargic and breathing heavy. The yellow tang is not allowing her to eat. He is swimming very fast towards her and did the same to my copperband that died a couple of days ago.

I have read on the net and it seem as if this could be an internal worm/parasite.

Anyone that had a similar experience with bloated fish and could advise on possible treatment? Thanks!

Hi @dallasg, that seemed to be the case when I first noticed it. It then made a poop and was fine afterwards, until I noticed now again being bloated, but no scales sticking out or inflamed anus (yet) at this stage.

Is this something you treat the tank with or like a medicated food?

    Thanks.

Thanks! Will read up on it. Is this different from Praziquantel? Not sure if this is bacterial infection or a type of a worm....

Ok, I got some meds today to start treating the anthia. Problem is that I cannot find her! I cannot find her under the rocks or floating, so a bit puzzled.

If she died during the night, is it possible that the 3 shrimps (fire, cleaner and banded coral shrimp) could've eaten the fish to the extend that I cannot find any trace of her?

Thanks @RiaanP. I don't have hermits, only the 3 shrimps and 2 bristle stars.

Will they eat her completely in one night so that there is no trace of the carcass at all?!
