Blister or what?

    hey all,
    I have something on my pink finger leather that looks like blister on it. I just want to know what this is and is it normal. Will try to get a pic.

    Paul, all I could find that overextended or outstretched tissue could indicate the following:

    Decreased Water clarity, dimming lights (old globes), Change/reduced flow.

    It could be a sign of an unhappy coral.

    Have you changed anything lately ?

    All possibilities... but without other signs of decline? Weird...

    I agree. Do you dose iodine at all? It looks like an infection to me. Some iodine may halp curb the growth, however if it persists and the coral deteriorates, I would frag it down and discard the wierd bits

    Well, the other possibility... corals can get tumors. I don't know if that's what these are... but... maybe.

    Looks more soft/inflated than hard. Am I correct in thinking that tuors are hard?

    Not necessarily... tumors are just uncontrolled growth of some type of tissue. And it is a "soft coral"... so it one would think it could have "soft" tumors. Or, rather, it could have cysts...
