There is still black availible in the Juwel brand.

Shops that sell Marltons stock can order , but they dont come in the calking gun tube, only the squeeze tube.

Nah the demand was not great enough for them to continue to stock it.

I'm sure there are some other brands, All the okes were just so used to Den Braven's stuff.

I reckon the LFS's will step into that gap and import, I'd just hate to know what the consumer will have to pay. I'm not sure that the Durbs or CT stores don't have... Maybe its just the JHB branch?

so I will take 12, Sentri 1 the other masa members 27 and you can take the balance - 960 tubes should not be too much for you :p

Sure we can get it from an online hardware store in singles.

Honestly i think this is going to be much easier if the likes of the LFS's get together and order it. They have better contacts than myself and i'm sure they will be able to purchase a bulk order.

Why not get Aquarium Depot to assit i'm sure it will make it worth our while?

maybe someone can try the black silicone from glue devil, tested on a broken piece of glass and you cant even get it of with a blade once cured.

I agree, we are tensed up the black silicone for other purposes might be toxic or something. Would it not be a good test to build a tiny tank with not more that 5l capacity and put a fish in there? If the fish is ok in only 5l for a few months then it should be ok to build a bigger tank that will use less silicone per liter. Lets see what the reaction is.

Be careful if the silicone does not state that is for aquarium use as the other types contain anti-fungal compounds.
