Hello people, which backgrounds do you guyz think would be better for the backgrounds off your tanks (Black or Blue)? take into consideration the algae that grows on the back over time glass (Which almost never gets cleaned). Im just curious on the peoples preference on which is more eye catching. :whistling:

Blue, and there is no excuse not to clean the back glass, look for "Seashell's" tank on this forum and see how good the tank looks when the background is clean

Wee-Man it can become very difficult for some people to clean the back glass off large tanks (Space to work with), hence im asking which would be more pleasing to the eye if you simply (Cant get in there). I personally prefer the black background as you see less algae over time. I know this coz I have the back off my nano black :whistling:

If you use a magfloat and a duster (of piece of smooth cotton) to pad the outside to stop scraping paint off, it is quite simple, or the long handled scraper, just have a think about how much better it could look with a clean background:)

Actually your corals will love it, if you clean your glass at least weekly, then you will see all you coral polyps extend and be very happy, just don't leave it for 4 months.;)

My pref is black. I cleaned all the corraline off the back glass of my tank once and took the black background away and it looked awesome, but like a day later you can already notice a bit of a green/brown tint so after a week or so I just put the black background bank and prayed every day for the corraline to grow back QUICKLY! :p
