Just found out that the bio star can only handle a 250l tank (bad advice from NP) I need a good skimmer to fit in a small space, the hight is the problem. It needs to fit into a space of 150mm wide x 370 long x 450 high (tight sizes) to skim a tank of 400l

Hi Kevin. The suggestions that I can give you, are:
    - (perhaps) reefTek TS1
    - Red Sea Prizm Pro
    - WeiPro 2012/3
    - Tunze (ask Mekaeel about the Tunze skimmer - it seems to be quite small and I believe it works well
    - Via Aqua SK series

I am not an expert on skimmers, but am sure that one of the above should work for you.

I also know that Galibore modded a WeiPro to fit a small space.
