    Watermelon, welcome

Most crabs are bad news, reasearch the traps using a glass here on MASA, catch him, and post pics for ID (if at all) and in the mean time, sump his carapace

Take a smooth sided glass, about about 10cm high (as the crab about 5cm) and place it against the rocks at slight angle, then put a piece of prawn or something inside it, leave it over night, the crab will smell it and will go down into the glass to eat the prawn and won't be able to climb out as it will just slip on the side, works every time!

got old LR with him and prorata sea star and some mollies and glass shrimp from our coast, no sump, only a cheap hang on skimmer heater and circulation pump, and he gets black mossel and frozen sea mix, he is in heaven there

Not sure if they are that bad, but crabs are normally, even my blue hermits is making me mad some times:p

wait for one of the slim members to post something, they know more, or search the net for teddy bear crab and read up on them.

    Guys,

This is all very well and fine, but how does the glass trick work if you have fish and cleaner shrimps? It's not like they're going to leave the stuff in the glass alone.

I caught a large R5 coin crab a few weeks ago and was very chuffed with myself, over the last 2 weeks, 2 fish have disappeared (entirely gone) and last night I noticed a larger crab - 5cms hiding in the LR. I recently took my entire tank apart to get a damsel out (last week) and really am not rushing to repeat this. I see the coke bottle idea is often used but again.. what do the cleaner shrimps do?
