I have picked up the rock, and shook it vigirously. They get their panties in a knot and detach without you having to frag them.

Two things apply however: 1) You need space to shake the rock upside down in theater 2) Need to understand that you obviously will shake off dirt and detritus from the rock too, so you water will get dirtly as hell.

I normally just used a blade and cut them off at the based. Unless your trying to dir the rocks the are currently on, in which case try jaco's method.

lol @ Jaco, but yes it works. Getting them off is easy, getting them to stick to the new surface is a PITA

I place them on rocks in my sump where there is no chance of it being knocked over or blown away. After a week they are attached. I have probably 80% success with this method and sometimes have to re place the shroom or ric on the rock or plug

I took a piece of rock with a mushie on, held it near a strongish powerhead. Direct the flow at its base, then GENTLY useing a tea spoon(upside down) lift the mushie intact of and do/frag it as you please. Most of the time it wont even shrivel up useing this methode.

    Hope this helps.

I took a small hammer and chisel and put the shroom rock on a wet towel on the floor and smacked it into a few pieces!!! works like a dream!

To get them to reattach, place them in a quiet place in your tank like the sump. You can use pieces of pvs tubing about 50mm long. Take a tube, put pieces of coarse gravel in each one, place the mushroom on top of it and give it a few days to attach to the bits of coarse gravel. Now you can superglue it onto the rock and the gravel will be rough enough to allow the coral to stick

Can also put some small pc rock in a deep glass bowl put some shrooms in it and with in a week remove...the sump would be a gr8 place for this if the water flow is not to strong over the top of the bowl..or use pvc as tony mentioned...i use a normal table knife and scrape at the rock surface scraping the top layer of the rock hard under the shrooms ...this you need to do if you dont want them to grow back...
