    Hi All

I got a vortech mp10 on friday and have been messing around with the settings and trying to find the best one. My tank is a Boyu TL550 about 120litres in the display tank.
At the moment I am quite liking the reef crestal random mode.
Anybody using this pump in a similar tank?
    What setting are you using?

The best setting to use is the one that works best for you :)
You will probably need to set it very low as that pump in that tank could be quite strong
But basically set it up to water every works the best in terms of flow for your corals

I run mine mostly on Lagoonal Random mode and change to Nutrient Transport Mode a couple of times a week to kick up detritus.

Does the nutrient tranport mode work well?

I have found the modes I like and think work in my tank and change the mode and power settings every few days....helps get rid of detrius build ups, and gives a needed change of flow.

I Like Reef crest mode because of the sharp changes in flow output, so I can set it at maximum and not worry about it being to powerful for my corals as it changes quickly. Best part of this is the surface agitation it creates, I love the varying shimmer it helps create.

Lagoon mode, because it makes a strong gradual surge of flow in the tank, I just dial it down a bit because it can get quite fierce in my small tank.

Short pulse on max gives loads of water movement, without blowing soft corals to death as well as helping to lift detrius.

I suppose if you put yours on nutrient export it does much the same....but I like changing things up by myself.

    Interesting thanks for the info.
I think I'm going to give the short pulse mode and lagoonal mode a try next.

I can't speak for a nano but Nutrient export is awesome before you do a water change, kicks up all the debris into the water column making it easier to siphon out.
