Apparently it's the red Sea salt.

there is no such thing, it all depends on the params you need to keep etc..
so decide on that then see which salt is closest.

eg if you plan to keep a low nutrient system and want to keep alk at 7 then using redsea pro is a no as it has an alk of 12.4, so you would need to use a salt like reefers best

As @dallasg said, look at your parameters and then go with the salt closest to it! It's all about promoting stability.

Sorry for my ignorance but this is all new for me. How or where is the best place to find or workout the best parameters for your system?

1st what do you want to keep and what size is your tank? also how old is the tank, or is it a new tank?

It's a new tank and the size is 1.3 x 0.5 x 0.5 and not to sure what I'm want to put in the tank yet. Hence my question I would like to try and start with the right salt from the beginning if it matters

No need to complicate it, any of the branded salts available will be fine to start your tank on. Once your tank is up and running you can adjust the parameters to suit the system you want to keep. :)

    what is the "Best" salt.
Depend on how you look at it. For me it is a combination of the price you pay VS the quality of the salt. As you are just starting, you would hardly have any corals in your tank. Buying coral "Pro" salt is a waste of money at the moment. Look at the info on the box or bucket. Also fish only systems, you do not need to worry too much about high levels of magnesium or calcium. Cheaper can be better, depending on what you really need out of the salt at the moment.

I'm using Aquamedic Salt for many years. The KH is a bit low. But I found the price to be fair for what I get.
