Anyone had any experience with these guys?

Been looking at getting some to deal with some nuisance Aiptasia in my tank...but am beginning to worry about how many I would need as the site below states for my tank 10 is the ideal number! And at a price of nearly R400 each from what I understand that could be a costly exercise.

Seriously an auction,do we keep animals for joy or money, I know something is rare, but sell it to the highest bidder sounds cheep to me!:(

I am just not sure why they needed to be auctioned off since they seem to be readily available now.

Other thing that was discussed on **** is what happens after they have cleaned out your aptasia? responses, they will die of starvation unless there is constant aptasia for them to feed on.

due to the high demand for them and the fact that only two were up for grabs the auction was a way to give people a chance to get hold of them
    Readily available from where?

They are on the American list now as I think I said before somewhere...new US supplier with lots more oddities that werent available to South Africa before. I think now that they are available we will be seeing a lot more coming into the country.

The price that was stated there as the normal going rate of R399 is the same price my LFS owner said they would be coming in at on his list.

We should be getting some in on Thursday.

I managed to get a couple of these guys a few years ago. They are fantastic aptaisia munchers. Great to watch as they destroy the pests.

Does that mean Aptasia covered Live Rock will now have some "street value"..:p
as I've not added anything to my Tank in over a year and had the misfortune of seeing Aptasia pop up over the past 2 months...with the result that I figured these rocks will just have to be dumped when I upgrade, as I've come to understand that they can pop up again...some had them in the sun for months and they eventually popped up again...:( but now with these Nudie's the guys need a steady influx of Aptasia or else they die...hence some "street value"...:p
