    Hey,

Can anyone spare me two air pumps? Power went out yesterday at 3pm and they told us that it should be back at 10pm. I wake up now and it is still off, lost my flame angel and wrasse. Copper and not looking good and can't see others.

I am based in honeydew, off beyers naude.

    Thanks in advance

@tekkengal why didn't you call me? I have a battery operated air pump!

Really sorry about the fish :(

We also had a power outage from 9pm till sometime in the early hours of the morning.

Methinks its time for you to invest in a UPS dear

Sorry to hear that Tekkengal. I know that feeling. Yesterday my RO pipe slipped out the connection to my top up tank. The whole plug point exploded and power was out for few hours also.

Thanks guys. Still very upset over losing those two fish. All the others are fine.
UPS was working until 6pm when I got home but died a few minutes later. When we phoned to find out what happened turns out the idjits working on Blueberry road damaged something or the other causing the outage, only fixed it this morning at 5:45am...was up most of the night stirring the water.

Going to get a backup battery pump to avoid this happening again.

Buy a bilge pump from your local boat shop on a deep cycle battery.

I use it on my fishing ski for a live bait system and get 4 hours out of a 7ah battery!

here they about R700 in jhb

there is no need to make the sump and tank flow for a few hours, the main problem is temp and dissolved oxygen, you can mix 5ml per 100L of hydrogen peroxide in the water to help and have good surface agitation. if you plan to have your heater on backup power i suggest you put it on its own power
