I am about to rescape my tank, reasoning behind that is exchanging one tank to another - same size, just outlet is better...so...

I might as well scape the thing nicely with base rock which will eventually be covered by who knows what the future brings but I want to get the shape together - all of this is happening on Saturday so I got to get moving on this. Yeah, I know, maybe left it a little late to think about this sort of change but got some ideas only recently from other reefers and now I have a situation...

Where do I find base rock that isn't going to set me back and arm and leg for and also doesn't look like polished porcelain/bleached pure white stuff??

From Lanzo for R30 or R40 per kilo - very nice rock, go check in his forum. Bad news is he is closed this weekend from yesterday already.

I have got a few bits for you. You can decide what you want when you pick up the drums and poly boxes.

Hey Rob, I am not going to delay things, if I don't have all the rock I need I can build it in later if needs be. I am not going to stop the change over from happening on Saturday.

Thank you Kieth, I will give you a call later on and we can make the arrangements accordingly.

Ja, that could be good. There is nothing stopping us from moving the tank over tonight already...then prep everything for a full go at moving and setting up as a reasonably fast move in the morning.

My only limitation will be getting the water up to temp before I get the LS back into the DT because I am using my existing water, just with a 10% change. The "new" tank is cold so will drastically reduce water temp, I want that up so that I don't shock everything to death...it will also help by buying time to fiter some junk which will be floting about in the water with all the disruption

Thanks, I am hoping it goes well. I have thought this plan through so many times in my head and it is going to be just fine...enough planning has gone into it - even if it is a smallish tank (4ft), every bit of life form is significant in it's own right

    it went, well, thanks...
I will post some pics in a new thread about it...

Very sad in that the lid of the canopy dropped down and one of the globes broke, very lucky only the 1. So I will have to get another tomorrow - no cash for it but what can I do.

I am pleased with the end result, 100x better than what it was...

I think i might have a spare used 54w globe that you can use until you can get a new one. Will check in the morning. Was it a white or blue globe?
