Hi there I got about 20kgs of home made base rock from a guy it's been out for about a month now and I would like to place it in my tank now.

My question is how should I clean it before putting it in the tank?should I just soak it in or water for a few times?

Personally i would first litrally cook the rocks in boilling RO water. Then good scrub.(In RO water) the i would leave it in a bucket or container with salt water and a small powerhead. Then test every day to check params and then, only when all the params are stable at acceptabile levels for more than a week, id put it in my DT.

This is all just to make sure your tank doesnt go into a huge cycle caused by excesive die-off and or nasties leaching back into your system seeing as it was home made using cement ect.

    Hope this helps.
