    I need advise...I urgently need back-up power.
What would be better to get and why?
Generator, inverter, ups? Do you get an automatic start generator? Where can I get at a reasonable price?
What would I need to run on my tank? Needs to run for 10 - 12 hrs, maybe longer...
    Any suggestions and advice?

You will need to check the power ratings on your equipment if you are looking for inverters or a UPS and if you are only worried when the power fails , look at getting a DC return pump with a Deep cycle batt. You only need to keep your Water circulating

The best way to go about this is to get yourself a 500-800w pure sinewave inverter with charger not a modified sinewave inverter as your pumps wont last on them and a 102mah deep cycle battery. Run your return, flow pumps and skimmer on this and your set and done for 8-12 hours when power fails.
