As many Cape Town Reefkeepers that know us, we offer a 4 Week QT with us, ONLY on my approval and readiness we let stock go to our customers.

We are not a huge LS trader and we order only the amount our staff can comfortably cope with, each individual fish health is targeted. As we know sometimes they come off a rough journey from source and origin to destination and sometimes due to their delicacy we cannot prevent the inevitable.

This does NOT make the best business sense but our ultimate goal is for the health of our livestock.

We plan to raise the bar in prices but with that comes the health of the stock we sell and the decision is ultimately yours as the consumer.

This video below is something we boast and this is everyday special care to ensure the health of our pets we love so much.

If you think the holding tank is a bit small, this is because the species size arrived in error from the supplier, but none the less extra attention given for their health.

its very good to offer a 4 week QT period, IF no new livestock is added to the tanks FOR 4 WEEKS. if new livestock is added within that period the QT would be pointless really.

I miss my idol, he managed to survive a year and a half, not bad for a species that should not be kept in a tank. If you get one that eats they are the life of the tank.. this one looks very nice.

That's why we have a shop with 7 tanks and a QT of 9 holding tanks.

So we only keep minimal species in shop, when they leave they get replaced.

So when you browse our store that's only 50% of the ls you see.

We sell a power blue today, tomorrow we acclimate another powdet blue from QT.

Depending on the weight R119 average SAA cargo here in two hours ....

I do it all the time.

Well done guys this is excellent work!

I would love to see a LFS that would offer QT for their clients fish. I.e. if a fish got sick or showed some sort of parasite.

I would actually pay to have the option of 4 week QT for fish!
    Once again fantastic job!

Try keeping the moorish with chromis, their feeding frenzy will help with the moorish eating, can use cardinals too.

Also try using frozen cockle or nori in a open oyster shell, the fish will naturally try feeding

    Works for me :)

Totally agree, far easier to get a new guy eating when the others feed in a frenzy, its almost like they missing out and need to partake, I noticed this too often.

Price with SAA/Airlink for a 40x40x40 box that has a volumetric weight of 17kgs is R490 thats airport to airport so no courier cost, fill the box as weight is not more than volume and then its still a good price to pay

I cant agree more it so helps to see your fish eat. And know its doing well when you get it.

So many LSF receive stock and sell stock in 24hrs .....gggrrrrrr

@mytank did you know you can fly pets to Lanseria, which many km closer than OR for us

Ive flown down racing pigeons (yes I see the irony in that) for my brother inlaw down to CT. And its still quite cheap

Andre - AJ should be with you today (or was he yesterday?). Have a look in the catalog at the Garlic Enhance and the Krill Enhance. I use the Krill Enhance when I go fishing with great success :D :D :D

AJ, was there yesterday, but I missed him, did find the catalog, ordered some goodies from him.
I was interested in the 1gallon special blend, he was going to ask you about my refrigeration question that I always wondered about, must special blend be refrigerated once opened
