Hi Guys, where can I find a float switch and the holder to secure it in the sump.

I would like to do a DIY this weekend.

I'll be visiting plastics for africa to look for a nice sized container to fit the back of my tank.

I have a small pump already.

RS components in kyalami business park..

There's quite a few to choose from, depending whether or not you gonna use a relay..

Lemme know if u need help, I could maybe draw you a wiring diagram..

Yes please, I don't think I'll need a relay, what would the purpose of the be?

I stay in Cape Town, so kylalami isn't going to work for me

I don't think RS Components will have a problem shipping to Capetown..

The reason for using a relay is to avoid having 220v near water.

So instead you use a 5v power supply to switch on a relay which turns on the pump..

You don't have to use a relay as you do get 220v float switches, but they a tad bit more expensive.

I think its safer to go the relay route and its not difficult to setup..

Could you give us a run-down of your auto top-up system? I'm getting tired of adding R.O water with a jug!

    an idea

Interestingly enough, on a tank i was given yesterday, they used a toilet's float switch to top up automatically, it looks strange but it works, go and open ur toilet bowl and just take a look how it works, kinda makes sense.
