    Hi Guys
I just read the post on the mandarin, and now I am a bit worried. My mandarin looks happy but the tank is only 7 weeks old. The live stock and LR are more than a year old though. Mandarin seems to be nibbling all the time on the LR as well as the sand. Should I be worried?
Also the Aurora red base anemone have been closed for the past two days.

oh man.. you going to get flamed.

well firstly, you should only add a mandarin when you tank is 6months old since it has to take time to build up a colony of pods for it to eat - i am sure you have noticed that it does not eat flake. it will only eat live food (unless u super lucky) it will eventually die in your tank due to starvation - i would try sell it asap - or give it away!

the anem - same story. tank to young. your tank is not stable and therfore your anem can not handle the swing in chemistry. it looks like its a gonna.

your tank looks WAAY to stocked for a 7week tank.. you may loose alot of fish...

Anyone else wanting to comment on this, please do so in the correct manner and not with a miff attitude.

With the LR being a year old there should be a decent population of pods in the tank, given that you have lots of LR. So watch the mandarin.

The nennie is a big no-no

Im not sure which cheato to get but having some in your sump or even in the main tank will help with the pod production and mabye your lucky and the little fella will pull throug until your tank is self sustaining.

i think the mandarin will be ok if you get newly hatched brine shrimp for it to graze on , but the nennie must get a new home for now until your tank has matured enough, or sell the nennie to someone that can look after it and has the correct equipment
what lighting do you have in the tank , this will play a important role in the survival of the nennie

    good luck
