Atu gone nuts

    Hi all

    Tonite my atu's flote switch got jammed and somehow pumped 25L of ro water in to the tank also have noticed that all my coraline alge has turned gray all the other tank mates seam to be ok I have tested the sc and is sitting @ 1.020 it used to be 1.025 shoud I just wait for the water level to drop and my sc will come back to normal ?

    take out 5% form your system,
    Mix extra salt into that to raise it to 1.030
    Replace back into system.
    Do it once a day until back at 1.025

    And get yourself a better ATU unit. I'm using a SAGA, they are expensive but cannot do what happened to you.

    I was looking at the tunze osmoregulator
    @shaunn you sure the coraline not dieing off from the move?

    and or perhaps the stronger led lights bleaching coraline?

    but will it grow back in time ?

    Yes it will improve, I think all 3 factors are affecting it, once everything stabalises it will get better. You should think of your tank as a new system half cycled and you then stocked it. expect some die off and a mini cycle hopefully all we did will keep these cycles to a minimum.

    I would just take water out and place it back into the RO reservoir. Once the reservoirs is empty again your tank should be at the same level.
