    Hi,

So I've got some mixed results on the net regarding the Microbe-lift product range.
Decided to get some feedback from all of you on this...

For now I need to get your thoughts on:
    1. Artemiss
    2. Herbtana

But please don't just say that you hate it...
    Give some reasons why?
How long did you use it before you decided that you don't like it.

But also on the other side, why do some of you love it?
Share the success stories on this please.

How can one add a poll option?
Would like to add: "Using it now - so not sure yet"

I used this in a cocktail in my tank when introducing new fish, specially the ones that is finicky eaters. Was very happy with it. I ran a small skimmer in my nano, so never was an issue for me to switch it off, thinks this is what many people don't like.

With the exception of my small local snails, my CuC tolerated it, and corals were ok with it, although I had some mushrooms that showed an reaction to it, but only temporary.

Given the limitation on meds in a reef tank and/or the complex nature of some treatment, think it is a good option option if you know how to compensate for the skimmer.

So some of you voted: Never used it - and never will.

    Why?
Just bad reputation, or is it because you need to switch of the skimmer?

I would use it any day of the week! I used it on my reef tank until I had to shut it down. When I start up my next tank I will without any doubt use it and nothing else!
Just use Special Blend and Nite Out when you switch off the skimmer and presto! One happy and healthy tank!

I think both are herbal concoctions, and as with all herbal remedies I lack faith in their abilities.

@Jaak we are debating Artemiss & Herbtana.

the abilities of special blend and nite out II are not in question here

Are your feelings the same for the 2 products in question? do you use Artemiss and Herbtana?

I think what he meant is that he use special blend in conjunction with the other two products.
Which makes sense, as you can't run the skimmer...

used it for two days, skimmer acted out like i put soap in it. The main reason why I stopped. I also lost two turbo snails, my hermits also didnt look too happy. I am not sure if it works as I said, I added it to the tank when I saw a fish scratch against rocks. couldve been a false alarm but I though rather safe then sorry.

The main issue for me was my skimmer. Took me 50 or 60 Litre water change to get my skimmer back to normal.

But , I wont use it again , unless in a QT tank.

the poll heading should state the products in question as opposed to saying microbe-lift products in general..then guys can comment or vote for the products in question..

If you believe in homeopathy, crystal healing and eating beetroot to cure AIDS, then these might just be the products for you.

Well the lack of scientific grounding and poor reviews of these two products somewhat throws the rest of the products into question IMO. It's very difficult to prove that any of them are doing anything at all and I'm yet to see any conclusive positive results from independent sources.

When a fish has whitespot it generally either dies or improves naturally. If it dies, then people think "oh well, I caught it too late and nothing could have saved it". If it improves (as it would most likely have anyway), then they think that the product miraculously cured it. It's especially hard to prove or disprove a claim like "improves immune system" because it's so vague.

Same deal with bacterial supplements. "It made my tank cycle faster!". How do you know that? Would it not have done exactly the same thing without it?

@Lord_Blackadder yeah i hear you,but my point was that some guys use special blend but wont/dont use herbtana..so changing the heading just makes it easier for individuals to vote ,nothing to do with if the stuff works or not..

And turn my skimmer off during a disease outbreak? That would be foolish...

I agree, I would also much rather have my skimmer going during a disease outbreak. Rather focus on water quality, also heavier feeding than usual so fish can will naturally build their immune systems are more important for me and without a skimmer, your water quality might go south really quickly.
