Ive bought a bag of Arg-alive for my new tank....It says on the bag that I shouldnt rinse it as it is seeded with Bacteria....

Im moving all my lifestock and corals over to the new tank, so I dont have time to cycle the new system.....rather relying on my existing mature liverock etc...

Do I rinse the Argonite...or believe what the manufacturer says?

A freind of mine bought a bag of arag a live... ( i dont sell it )
He says it came wet, but with a pouch of bacteria ?

In which case im not to sure how good it could be.
We can all buy bacteria loose, and a wet bacteria in a uncontrolled moist state could surely be the same benificial strains of bacteria needed in a marine tank or sold in a sealed container.

I havnt had personal experience with this product , so im not knocking it, just asking ?

    Thanks
    David

Don't rinse. It might make the water a bit milky :p

I have used it, it didnt have any pouch in the packet...the sand itself is moist and there is a bit of water in with it.

You definately no not wash it as you would be wasting a lot of money u spent on live stand to make it...er...dead. :)
