Are these little buggers safe or not?

    These starfish are they ok for your reef? What are they?

    Asterina starfish
    Usually ok but some have been known to breed to pest numbers and nip corals

    I have a number of those and they are munching my zoas. I would not add them.

    I have seen a couple of them in my tank. I did not deliberately add them. I actually remove these two this morning.

    Jip, little hitchiker's. At one stage I had hundreds of them in my tank. They have a way of getting into he powerheads, chopping them up, yhen the bits grows into many more provided there are enough food for them. Apparently harlequin shrimp will eat them. I got mine under control by manual removal and algae comtrol
