Hi all looking for about 1/2 bag of aragonite (prefer white) that anybody has lying around. Just seem pointless to buy a full bag if i will only make use of not even half a bag. I am willing to pay a reasonable amount. Thanks

If you're happy with aquamedic "araganot" (articifical calcium carbonate) I have some you can have for free.

It offers less buffering capacity as it dissolves at a lower ph (basically won't dissolve in a tank, only in a calcium reactor) and doesn't have any of the trace elements. It's coarser than the aragonite that you'd need for a DSB but doesn't get "blown" about much as a tank substrate. I also think the because it doesn't dissolve at all it's more likely to end up looking a bit darker as diatoms or whatever grow on it.
Mainly though, it's cheaper at R11/kg last time I checked.
