    Hi guys,

I have 200L (tank) + 75L (sump) water and am looking to possibly purchase a RO unit and these units are suppose to generate 400 liters per day, which is ample for my needs. They are around R950. They are stocked by one of our sponsors.

    Aquaria SA

Was wondering if anyone has any experience with the Aquaria Marine RO units or if you could advise on a better option?

Hi, did you check Aquatic Vision. They have quite a few including Aquamedic unit which was not far off that price.

I was indirectly referring to A V. Was just wondering how this unit stands up against an Aqua medic one

There's a bug variety in the market to choose from, rather check for a unit that has a low water waist output. Also been shopping around for one.

I think all units have high waste water quantity, the more membranes you add the less wastage, but the unit becomes more expensive. The guy to speak to is @The Waterboy - Marco, he will be able to assist, or visit his website at Home | The Waterboy. I cannot comment on the units aquaria sell, but I have a unit that I bought at a famous warehouse dept. store, and it works great, will be adding an extra membrane from Marco to increase RO water produced along with less wastage.

400L per day? I seriously doubt that unless the water coming out isnt that great

You will need epic water pressure for a 2nd membrane. In our area there is no chance

Yeah that is the MAJOR downside. I have tons of pressure, but not sure if that will even work. The guy that installed my system said it will, but I am always sceptical.:)

I have been running an Aquaria RO unit for almost a year now and have had no issues at all. Still running at a solid 0 TDS.

I have 3 membranes on my system, standard water pressure in Pta(no idea what it is though) and it works perfectly, I fill a 25l drum in less than 2 hours(dependent on time of day) at 0TDS. No booster pump.

Just try it with your standard pressure, if it works, bonus, if not, get the booster.

A second membrane makes plenty sense but if your pressure is too high theres nothinhg more to do than to install a pressure reducer. Ain't that costly. There's a new company in the west rand that refurbish and do RO units mods. Will try and get their numbers..

Standard city water pressure will never be too high for our RO machines.

Shouldn't, but you may find places that are a little too much out of standards, lets not forget that council water works don't have much money for maintenance thus our water quality for drinking is in such a state of dismissal.

you dont need a booster pump.....you use low energy membranes for the second and third membranes

    really?......
buy genuine membranes, use people who know what the doing, save thousands of litres of water........i think thats really cheap.

or keep buying from people who sell for the sake of selling, know nothing about r.o.units and how to get the best out of them.......and pay double in future.....thats costly IMO:lol:

    use it dont use it;)
