Can anyone tell me in what sequence the globes need to be fitted? Bought the light with no globes and battling to find the correct set up.

OK so i take it you are not looking at a SPS set up? Cool. Now you need to decide the make of globes you are going to use. I use Giesemanns but there are other makes you can use.

Before i give you the order in which to place the globes i need to know how many power cords there are and if you want to switch the lights on all at once or if you want to ramp them on.

That light fitting does not have small blue moon LED's, right.

That will mean that 4 tubes work on one cord. In those positions i would use two Aquablue+ (white tubes) and two Aquapink (pink tubes that enhance colour)

arranging them from the back aquapink, aquablue+, aquapink, Aquablue+.

Then you will have two sets of two. On the set that is outermost use two Actinic pure. This is a purplish light and good for popping fluorescence.

On the other set use two Actinic+ which is a bright blue globe and good for growth.

The above is if you want to switch separately. pure actinic first, then actinic+, then the other four.

If you switch all at same time i would go from back .

    Actinic pure
    aquablue+
    Actinic+
    Aquapink
    Actinic pure
    Aquablue+
    Actinic +
    Aquapink.

    Hope that helps.

    as mentioned somewhere else

sequence of the globes does not matter.
would look at 4 * 10000 , 2 actinic and 2 midday. But that could be a bit too yellow. Depending on the amount of blue from the actinic. Midday will give a lot of growth, but you will loose that white crispness of the water if not offset by higher K ratings.

depending on the brand of globes you buy, they got different names. Rather look at their K ratings. Maybe take the unit with you and ask the LFS to help you decide. Set it up and run it over their coral tank until the output is acceptable.

but if you run the lights on separate timers, I would group similar units together on same timer. So that could impact their position in the sequence

Marius, as I told you last night.

Go to the lamphouse and buy 4 x 10k and 4 x atinic Sylvania tubes and you will be good to go.

This is going to cost you about R800, if you want to start looking at ATI, and the likes then you will spend R2000+ at this stage you dont need this.
