    Hey Guys

Can anyone tell me what they think of the Aqua Medic Ocean runner 6500?

I need to increase the flow in my tank and I'm looking at getting one for my sump to replace an Eheim 1250 & a Rio Power head.

They seem to be rather large in size and I want to know how noisy they are as I saw a YouTube clip and it seemed pretty loud.

    :p

    Thanks all.

I use the Aqua Medic 6500 on my Closed Loop.
very quiet pump and seems to do a good job.

I run my CL on intervals and when it comes back on you can see the flow it creates even though the return is split into many outlets.

it will be to much, you want a return of 2000-3000l/ph max, it all about contact time in the sump. why dont you add more flow pumps ?

AM 6500 is R2200 at Northlands Pets. I'm sure there is a discount lurking somewhere there.
However, as the others have said, its way too big for your system.
Rather look at a AM 3500.

If you want more flow inside the tank, rather buy a programmable powerhead from tunze or AM (5-15000LPH)

Guys im in London, returning to SA in Feb.

    I can get a OR6500 for R500 second hand.

Im looking into getting a Vortech MP40w for in side the tank.(Can get a SH one for R2200)

Im currently running 2 X 802 powerheads and 2 X Maxijet Powerheads inside.
This doesnt seem to be enough, so im hoping the Vortech will replace the Powerheads.

Buy the OR6500 , when you return to SA you can sell it a a profit.

For your system stick with a OR3500

Yes, goods are cheaper here, unfortunately, $$$ is tight as I have to pay R60,000 to ship my goods home.

Thx for the advice guys. I will get a OR3500 then.

for LPS you will be running it midway (around 6000lph) i have 4 running on 800lph ea and its too mych for my frogspawns..

awsome pumps i use them more to create random flow than just simple laminar flow.. thats my main reason for using them..
