I bought this unit new a few months ago and the instructions made no sense so have not used it.... Which pipe is the waste and which is the pure water? Should the black switch / value be up or down when purifying the water?

Very confused - does anyone else have this unit?

The waste is the pipe with the valve attached to it. The valve should be fully closed, I.e. 90 degrees to the pipe.
The bottom container that is first in line is probably the micro filter, the top one the carbon and the middle one the membrane. No DI resin. The outlet is the only one left that is pointing straight down.

When everything is moving slow you have connected right.

Open the valve fully once a week for a minute or so to flush the membrane. It apparently works better and lasts longer that way.

I don't have that app yet. I still mix and add my own water! Manually! By hand! Barefoot! Walking over broken frozen glass towards my tank!
