Dedicated shrimp station. There is 15 peppermint shrimps in there.

90L tank, setup like a sump. 2 triangular compartments. First chamber bigger. Last chamber big enough for return pump.

    Caulerpa in first chamber.

    Old style powerhead for circulation.

That's a leka aptasia cleaning station Riaan. I rarely see peppermint shrimp here in CTN & been looking for some for a while to do something similar to your station.

Hi Guys i find that my peppermint shrimp taste my polyps and some other soft corals..they did the job by eliminating the Aptasia..but i needed to get rid of them...what has done the job though for me is the 6 line wrasse..just as effective but if you are keeping a Mandarin then they would be competing against one another. Just my two cents of experience i have had thus far.

Yes, part of why I kept them in own "system"

Then nothing can eat them, and they can eat nothing else.

When they done their job. I will forward / lend the station to another reefer.

    Prostitute them out

Then you've probably got the camelback shrimp, looks almost identical to the peppermint shrimp but is a known coral eater and is easily confused with peppermint shrimps.

Nice Riaan, what do you feed the shrimps when there's no aiptasia in there?

These shrimps are funny. Mostly one shrimp does not work. Must have a group, and only when they have competition will they start to attack the aptasia. They go for the small ones first. Seems the bigger aptasia must meet their doom with chemical warfare.

Also it seems that you must starve them before they will do their job. They rather will eat anything else that what they supposed to. But I do feed a bit of flake food once a day.

I'm swapping rocks over from display into removal station. Once cleaned, I swap it back. So far so good. That is also the reason for the lights. Caulerpa needs 6000K, they grow like mad.

    Dear Pepper pimp,

I'll pay you (in your prefered currency) 6 beers and 6 fraqgs for a week's worth of servicing from your *uhm* working *cough* staff.

    Deal / no deal?
