    SA i think is the only country with an escarpment

    This is pretty real. I can recall 2 small earthquakes in Blouberg in last couple of years...

    we have had 4 since 1900 over 7 on the richer scale, most caused by the east african rift valley and along our mountain ranges, they do predict a big one, but geologists have their own timeline which is worse than us IT guys

    ya i believe africa isnt sitting on any contour lines and is sitting in the middle of the techtonic plate? So it contradicts whats going on here? didnt really read the atricle cause i'm being pretty lazy.

    Hey SA's president is just as bad as Bob, at least Bob has the decency to have one wife with no illigitimate children running around. SA's future looks worse than zimbabwes, zim can only really go up, SA can fall WAY WAY down:razz:

    ag look anything is possible, but I highly doubt that we are at any significant risk of an erthquake, the closest active rift system is the east african rift system which is in Tanzania / kenya etc ..... how this is traced to port shepston must be using some serious geo-poetry !!! :p
