I have two cleaner wrasse in my tank and the one keeps nailing the other one, so I caught the poor little guy and put him in my sump for now, Im would like someone to have it and perhaps get a few coral frags:)

Lets see if my theory is right - correct me if I'm wrong but these cleaners were not introduced to the tank at the same time or were they????

They were at exactly the same time put in and even caught them when they were swimming together

Ok that theory just got booted out the door.... I was told if they introduced at the same time they will live in peace and harmony but if done at separate times the "older" inhabitant will kill of the new kid in town as the newer cleaner will be seen as a threat to its food source (not the sharing type these cleaners) What do the others think????

I think it works precisely like with tangs you can add 5 tangs at a time and none will fight, but another guy only adds 2 tangs in his tank at the same time and they fight to the death... It just all depends on the individual specimen.

i would say its more like the clown scenario where if two are added one will fight with the other to establish its dominance as the superior of the 2 in a possible attempt to pair.. as you know even clowns sometimes dont handle this transition.. thats my theory..

If the first added was the smaller, let the smaller wrasse settle, then add a much bigger, works fine like that.
