wow. nice tank. Looks very clean. How about a pic of the engine room? I see you are in durban, we have a reef club that meets once a month, why dont you join us? you could meet other reefers and have a bit of fun in the meantime. Have a look at my signature if you are interested;)

Chiller was a fantastic investment, we probably would have lost everything over december and january without the chiller cause its been so hot in DBN. The tank is VERY relaxing, perfect for a work environment.

we took the standard lights and top off and added a 4 globe "shin mao" light system, we then mounted the old lights again but elevated them, the corals are loving it!

Tank was set up by Northlands Pets who pretty much helped us with everything as this was our first attempt, so a bunch of the congrats do need to go to the team there. Filtration is the standard filter that comes with the JUWEL as well as the canister under the tank. we haven't see the need for a sump or anything more for now but there are plans to get a much bigger tank so i guess we'll have to start learning all over again!

HHHmmm - very interesting, Antolo. Do you know if this tank has a skimmer built-in? Also - how often do the team from Northlands come and do water changes?

no skimmer, Northlands Pets only set the tank up, from that point it was up to us but we get all our water changes, the majority of our stock and all our advice from them, we do a 10% water change every 2 weeks as well as testing the water VERY often to make sure everything is in check. we have made a point to stick with a single supplier so that you know what you're putting in your tank is top quality right from the water they supply to the stock of fish and corels in the tank.
