    Hi guys

I'm starting a new tank, if had 1 for almost 2 years now.
With the new tank I would like to get an emperor angel.
Which corals are more prone to be safe with them?

    Thank you in advance
    Neil

My opinion is thats its really difficult to tell, not all of them really the same regarding to corals.. ive seen alot of systems wich has them with corals and some systems where guys needed to get rid of them its really a 50/50 thing

I have a bocolor angel and a regal angel:

Regal angel - chows flakes and pellets like a machine - havent seen him touch my corals
Bicolor - also chows flakes and pellets BUT, often nips at my pallys.

    In my tank I have:

    crocea clam
    leathers
    mushies
    plates
    xenia
    gsp
    kenya tree pincushion

    hope this helps

    Cheers
    Jason

I have seen Angels change in tanks also. Had a jumping bean for months which all of a sudden went after a pin cushion. I think they try out all your coral without u knowing it and then find something they like.

Keeping them fed and fat seems to negate coral nipping. My flame angel is as fat as a cow and havent seen him touch any coral (as a result of feeding lots i imagine)

My jumping bean chows my star polyps
Emperor angel hasn't touched anything yet , got him a month now. He was raised from 2cm in a reef tank by a mate of mine.

Once they get a tastse for coral they will keep on doing it. Angels is always a gamble and one has to feed several times a day so prevent them going for coral. Those Emperor gets big Id like to see what an adult can do in a tank full of coral. You would also require a big tank to house these fish.

@Slummies, compared to a queen, emperor, french... they are not so hot...

The tank is about 1200L, it should be fine, I think.

Did you ever try some marinara mix(seafood mix) from Shoprite, or Pick n Pay stores. I put it in a liquidiser and mesh it up and most fish seem to love it. Its cheap and last quite a long time.

How often do you feed meat? What happens when you go on holiday, you can't
Put frozen food in the auto feeder.... Won't you be able to keep angels happy
    With pellets and flakes?

my experience has been as follows
i have had a juvenile emperor in my 3 metre tank for about 1 year now
when i first introduced him , he fed on all my brains in a few hours
i was in a pickle as really wanted him , so removed all brains
    he was fine from then
    BUT
now he is turning into an adult and it seems he is taking a special liking to some green sps pieces
i picked up the feeding a little of ocean nutrition angel formula and for now its seems to have worked
really one of the best fish to keep IMO , but its touch and go as every emperor can be different !
    hope this helps
    good luck
