Anyone had issues with keeping anemones (bubble tips in this case) with cleaner and blood shrimp? This weekend I saw my blood shrimp being digested by one of my anemones.
On closer inspection, my 2 cleaner shrimp are also missing.

I'm thinking one of two things:
    1) shrimp tried to steal food out of anemone and got eaten instead.
    2) my clarke clowns dragged the shrimp into the anemone

I have a strong suspicion on the latter.
The male clown is particularly attentive in this regard, and regularly goes out and drags floating food pieces into the anemones. In fact when the dead blood shrimp was being regurgitated from the small green bubble tip, it then hauled the meal off to the bigger red bubble tip. The 2 cleaner shrimps had taken up a base position very close to the red anemone, had seen them at times even "feeling" the tentacles. I think one day, they must have got pushed by Mr Clarke?

Yes AfricaOffroad - I always had issues. The shrimp try and "Steal" the food from the anemone's tentacles, and then get caught. This is a common thing.....

Are you sure it is actually the shrimp, and not it's molting?

When I first saw the shrimp in the anemone, being the eternal optimist, I was hoping it was just a molt shell.
Alas, when the anemone released it, it was plain to see it was indeed a now dead parrot(Monty Python), I mean shrimp.:p

Big clowns are evil buggers. I've had them drag all kinds of crap into an anemone before...including large insects that land in the tank.
