Anemone vs LED

    Hi all

    Is anyone running a tank lit with ONLY led's and that has an anemone in it?

    Yes,

    Had a sand nennie and now a GBTA for almost a year, very happy under LEDS only. Has doubled in size atleast.

    I can comment however that because of the intensity it took about 3 months before completely coming out of its cave and expanding to full disk size (It was in a LFS with almost no lighting so the LEDS were probably a bit of a shock).

    But yes, should be fine.

    Yes i have a rose bubble under LED's now for 8 Months

    Do anemones prefer more of the white or blue spectrum?

    Sunsetty colour with yellowish tips. The size of a dinner plate.

    Thanks must be beautiful I have one withe very light yellow tips.

    I had a green bubble tip under leds and it loved it.

    Depends on the species. Shallow water ones (Heteractis magnifica, Macrodactyla, Stichodactyla) should prefer whiter light. Deeper water ones (Entacmaea, Heteractis aurora) should prefer bluer. They're pretty adaptable though as long as the intensity is there.
