    Hi all

Please assist in identifying the following anemone. I purchased it today and was told by LFS that it’s a white-based long tentacle anemone with blue/purple tips. Was also told that it wouldn’t sting if handled and that it is non-aggressive. Thanks!

Sebae for sure. Also not a anemone for beginners or new tanks. Needs to be in a established tank but even there few guys have succes with them.

Thanks for the help. Definitely a not an expert reefer but will be sure to feed him regularly... Looks happy today with tentacles more extended than in the pic. He’s the 5th one in the aquarium, tank settled and all the others seem ok thus far.

@badboygp I wont say something if I didnt know about it. I have been through 2 of these anemones. Its one of those species that I feel shouldnt be sold as only a hand full of people can keep them alive. Even then most dont see past a year. Also we give advice here to protect your wallet but most of all the species we keep in our tanks.

I think 7 months is old enough...
The parameters need to be stable.

    Just keep testing.

My first one was in a stable tank that was running for 2 years. It only survived just over a year. My second one only lasted 7 months. They show great progress in the first few months then slowly starts to die. I have been on Reef Central and yook some of those guys advice but nothing helped. Even the experienced guys struggle with them. Its one of those species which I believe should not be sold. I would also suggest reading up on it on one of the over seas forums. Good luck.
