Friend of a friend is selling up his system and im considering getting this anemone. The guy claims to have had it for 6 months! Anemone has settled on the glass close to the waters surface(seeking stronger light i assume).

Does it look to be in a healthy enough condition? Im sure i can give it a home better than its current. Please advise..

Looks to me like a H.magnifica, not bad condition but not great, he shouldnt be white, the foot looks ok

Magnificas need alot of light(metal halides minimum) and that one looks ok, alot of feeding and care will have it looking better

Here is some info regarding Anemone's..Short and sweet Beginners Guide..I don't think you'r Tank is roughly 9months old...I do stand corrected..but basically a Reefer should/must only introduce a Nennie when you'r Tank is mature enough...give or take 9months minimum...

You also have to cover you'r powerheads as they can and will most probably get sucked in...

What lighting do you have...? That is one of the most important aspect in keeping a Nennie...
If it was a Bubble Tip you could still get away with T5's...
but even then you would need to add more T5's...... but definately not with a H.magnifica..I think I read on you'r Tank Thread that you only have 2 x 54watt T5's...? You were basically a FOWLR...then lately added Coral..? Seriously...those light's won't do...

Rather leave it to someone who has experience keeping anemones. that anemone does not look healthy at all. Having it for six months does not mean its doing well not that it will last long.
Healthy specimens can sometimes be a challenge, so one that needs even more tlc is going to be extremely difficult.
