1. Poms is an Australian term, it omes from the days of sending prisoners to Botany Bay, so it's not really an insult - you just shouldn't say it, unless you want to sound like an Aussie ;)

2. The English aren't whining about it - who posted it, that should give you a hint:whistling:
 
Poms: Definition: What Aussies call the English. Note: POM actually stands for 'Prisoner of Mother England', which would mean Austalians, but somehow we twisted it around to suit our own needs.

I can never understand Y we call the English Poms, as they are not.

Just like in SA English speeking people are called "Sout Peel". (spelling)
