At Reef Aquatics, we strive to innovate and bring in products that add value to our aquariums and to the well being of our tank mates.

We normally know when our tanks are overheating due to the hot weather in SA, but we never know when our tank heater fails and the temperature plummets.

With this little inexpensive Thermometer, a very irritating alarm will sound when your temperature falls out of the temperate ranges set by you, e.g min 24 degs to max 28 degs.

A typical example, in the colder winter months you are watching TV at 8:00pm your heater fails, you go to bed and next morning your tank temp is 14 deg C, total disaster.

It's nothing intelligent, however it could save your tank in the event of a heater failure, even a power failure during the night, where normally this would go unknown until the next morning.

Guys with chillers and controllers this is not for you, but merely a cheap audible alarm alerting you of a problem.

    our price @ R189.00

as we say nothing intelligent, but found the need for this gadget as one day during tank maintenance the 2 prong heater was not plugged in properly an caused a total sps wipe out for me, as I only discovered the low temp about 24hrs after the problem (6pm tanks maint. and 6pm home from the office).

So as we say, it wont call or send an sms to tell you your heater failed, but it will alert someone at home to tell you there is a problem.

I personally had heater issues twice before, lucky me it was in summer so it only dropped to 21deg.... What a cool product for us guys that run KISS ( keep it simple systems). Thinking could even alert you electricity is down in the middle of the night when you sleeping. I gotta get one.
