    Hi Guys

After 2 weeks of testing - atlast, I have traces of ammonia...

How far am I in my cycle now, what do I need to look out for now?

I have been cycling for about 2 weeks now, I even have allot of Copepods on the side of my tank... apparently all this is good...

PLease just give me some refreshed hope...

    :)

Are you referring to the little white dots on the side of the tank and on some rocks?

Ammonia is the very first stage of the bacteria cycle, so you should get Nitrite spike after that.
I never had a huge Ammonia or Nitrite spike(I think it was because of seachem Stability that I used), but I only started getting 0 ammonia after 4 weeks. Your next aim is to get 0 nitritre.

Yes they are everywhere, the are floating about, and against my glass, they are just crawling about on the glass...

I measured for nitrite last night, but there is nothing...

how long does it normally take for nitrite to show up... ammonia literally started last night, how good is the sera tests..

    I have No3 test - sera
    I have No2 test - sera
I have Ph test - sera
    I have NH3/NH4 test - sera
and a tetra stick test 6 in 1

Some guys do not have a lot of faith in Sera kits. I also use them for Ammonia, Nitrite and Nitrate. Just make sure they have not expired9Bottom of box)

What have you got in your tank at this stage?

LOL its probably the only bad thing in this hobby, all the waiting.....

You simply have to wait until amonia and Nitrite are not traceable and Nitrate is at an acceptable level....and evan after that you need to proceed very slowly as to not upset the balance in your new tank....

Its Lame, but its better than loosing life stock....especialy when your new to the hobby...Get a magnifying glass and check out all the pods that start to develop.
