    Hey guys

    I have a 900l water volume tank + sump
and I have both these skimmers :
Aqua Medic turbo floater 1000 and a reeftek TS2
    which one would you use?

    thanks

Neither ..... You would want to skim double your tanks volume

But if I had to choose ...TS2 ...that's a baby beast

    Really?

I thought if its rated for a thousand liters then you can skim a thousand liters?

You correct bro, but most would advise you to skim double ie. A skimmer rated for 1500-2000litres as it just makes things so much simpler, healthier cleaner water and you are able to withstand a decent bioload with more regular feedings without poluting the tank

I have no experience with AM turbofloater but from my experience and others I've seen, a TS2 will keep up easily, that's a little beast, and that's putting it mildly

I've seen guys use 2 skimmers, dnt know how it worked out tho....let's here what other guys hav2 say

you would need a ts3 at least i have had ts2 and ts 3 and a ts 3 would be the minimum imo. you would need to use both skimmers you have for a 900l .

have had ts2 and a ts3 and am1000. the akimmers you have are really ok for low bioload but you would need to look at power consumption of both combined and you may find that it would work out better long term to get a bigger up to date skimmer with lower power consumption. there are however so many variables that the only way to know is to see how they work on your specific tank with its bioload. when you find skimmers dont cope then replace.

Is it the hang on version? They are rated for from 450 to 950 Litres. Obviously depending on fish load and your feeding regime.

Both skimmers are a bit underrated for your size system. Maybe sell both and upgrade.
