Algaer scrubber scrubbing cyano

    The only thing my algae scrubber seems to scrub is cyano/red slime, haven't had an issue with it in-tank so why is it flourishing on the scrubber and how do I stop it? Scrubber light is on for 18 hours a day.

    also what lights do you have on it? and how many watts?

    How strong is the flow? I thought Cyno wouldnt grow under high flow?

    are you sure its cyno and not just red brown algea?

    Mostly brown growth, but some green: Clean all of the brown off every 6 days, but leave some of the green.

    Thats the best description but its a deep red colour

    Nick, persevere...let it run its course, as long as you are harvesting u are exporting nutrients.
